Our Story
Zaket & Plover was founded in 2004 by my partner, Chris, and me, building on a deeply rooted family history in knitwear. Z&P grew from Ladame, a thriving Melbourne knitwear label established by our family in the early 1980s, renowned for its intricate jacquard designs and proudly manufactured in Fitzroy.
Honouring this heritage, we evolved the label into Zaket & Plover, a modern reimagining that carries forward the craftsmanship, creativity, and integrity that defined Ladame, while shaping a brand that reflects our own vision and lifestyle.
From the beginning, our focus has been clear to create clothing that balances comfort with style, and empowers women to feel confident, comfortable, and completely themselves. As head designer, I design with myself, and women like me, in mind, creating pieces that flatter real women and move with them through everyday life.
Joy has always been at the centre of what we do. Our collections are designed to uplift, combining colour, texture, and thoughtful detail to suit every mood and moment. While we’re known for our playful use of colour, each season also embraces richer, deeper shades, grounding the collection and offering versatility alongside vibrancy.
At Zaket & Plover, we are committed to impeccable quality, sustainable luxury, and considered pricing, creating pieces that feel special, last beautifully, and can be truly enjoyed.
Today, we remain a closely knit, family run business based in Melbourne, proudly continuing a legacy of knitwear craftsmanship while designing for the modern woman.
Our name reflects our Greek heritage: Zaket meaning cardigan, and Plover meaning pullover.
